Organize your documents with folders and use AI to generate new content from your folder's documents.

Customizing Folders

Make your folders visually distinct with custom colors and icons. This helps you quickly identify different projects or categories.

Changing Folder Color

  1. Hover over a folder to reveal the menu button (three dots)
  2. Click the menu button to open folder options
  3. Select Icon Color to see available colors
  4. Click a color to apply it to the folder icon

Changing Folder Icon

  1. Hover over a folder and click the menu button
  2. Select Icon Style to see available icons
  3. Click an icon to apply it to the folder

Available Icons

Choose from Folder (default), Star, Briefcase, Book, Code, Lightbulb, or Archive icons.

Folder AI Magic

Generate new documents from the content in your folders using AI. This is perfect for creating summaries, reports, or extracting insights from multiple documents at once.

How to Use Folder AI

  1. Hover over a folder that contains documents
  2. Click the magic wand icon that appears (it uses the folder's color)
  3. The AI panel slides in from the right
  4. Choose from example prompts or type your own request
  5. Review the AI output as it streams in
  6. Click Create Document to save as a new document in the folder, or Continue Editing to refine the output

Synthesize key points from all documents into a comprehensive summary

Generate a professional report with executive summary from folder contents

Identify patterns, themes, and connections across all documents

Action items

Extract all tasks and action items mentioned in the documents

Accepting or Continuing

After the AI generates content, you have two options:

Create Document

Saves the AI output as a new document in the folder. You'll be redirected to the editor to continue working on it.

Continue Editing

Keep the AI panel open and ask follow-up questions to refine the output before creating a document.

Tips for Best Results

  • Organize related documents — Folder AI works best when documents in the folder are related to each other
  • Use descriptive folder names — The AI uses the folder name as context for understanding the content
  • Be specific in prompts — Instead of “summarize this”, try “create a bullet-point summary focusing on key decisions”
  • Iterate with follow-ups — Use “Continue Editing” to refine the output with additional instructions
Note

Folder AI reads the full content of all documents in the folder. For very large folders, some content may be truncated to stay within AI context limits. For best results, keep related documents together in focused folders.
